Three Star Club has secured a place in the final of the Birat Gold Cup 2081 after defeating Tribhuvan Army Club 3-2 in a thrilling semifinal match. The game, played at the Sahid Rangasala in Biratnagar on Sunday, saw Three Star come out on top against a strong Army side to move one step closer to the title.
Match Summary
Three Star made a dream start, scoring in the very first minute. Dipesh Ghale delivered a brilliant cross, which Prashant Laksam Limbu converted smartly to give his team an early lead.
The team doubled their advantage in the 28th minute when Ashish Chapagain set up Dipesh Ghale, who finished with a stunning goal. Three Star’s third goal came in the 81st minute, courtesy of Nabin Lama, ensuring their victory.
Tribhuvan Army Club fought back, with captain Nawayug Shrestha scoring in the 83rd minute. In stoppage time, Army was awarded a penalty after Nishant Rai was fouled inside the box. Niraj Chaudhary stepped up and scored, but it was too late to change the outcome.
Army’s Missed Chances
Army dominated much of the second half, creating several chances, but they failed to capitalize. Captain Nawayug Shrestha had multiple attempts, but Three Star’s defense and goalkeeper Bibek Magar stood firm.
