The wait is almost over! Director Mani Ratnam’s highly anticipated film Thug Life, starring Kamal Haasan, is all set to hit theatres on June 5, 2025. Ahead of the big release, the makers have officially kicked off promotions with a grand press meet and the launch of the movie’s first single.
Peppy Wedding Anthem Jinguchaa is Out Now!
The film’s production house, Raaj Kamal Films International, recently unveiled the first song from Thug Life, titled Jinguchaa — and it’s already being called the ultimate wedding anthem of the year!
The energetic music video features Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR enjoying traditional wedding festivities, while Sanya Malhotra steals the show with her sizzling dance moves on stage.
The makers shared the song on social media with the caption:

Kamal Haasan’s Idea Sparked the Story
During the recent press meet, Kamal Haasan shared a surprising behind-the-scenes detail. He revealed that the story idea for Thug Life originally came from one of his own old scripts.
“We discussed many stories… Mani Ratnam told me he liked one of my old scripts. I told him to take it. He got inspired by it and went in his own direction,” Haasan said.
Silambarasan TR & Trisha Krishnan Reunite
Adding to the buzz, Thug Life also marks the on-screen reunion of Silambarasan TR and Trisha Krishnan, who were last seen together in the romantic hit Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. Fans are excited to see them share screen space again in a completely different setting.
