According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the country is currently experiencing the partial effects of a western low-pressure system and local winds.
At present, the weather in hilly areas is partly to generally cloudy, while the rest of the country has primarily clear skies.
Afternoon Forecast:
- Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will have partly to generally cloudy weather.
- Other provinces will have partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.
- Light rain with thunderstorms is likely in some places in Koshi and Bagmati provinces and one or two places in Madhesh and Gandaki provinces.
- Light snowfall is expected in one or two places in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Night Forecast:
- Koshi province will have partly cloudy weather, while other provinces will see partly cloudy to mostly clear skies.
- One or two places in Koshi province may experience light rain with thunderstorms.
- Light snowfall is possible in one or two locations in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi province.
The department has advised caution as light rain and thunderstorms in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with light snowfall in some high hill and Himalayan areas, may have minor impacts on daily life, agriculture, health, road, and air transport.
