Locals in Lisankhu Pakhar Rural Municipality-7, Dolakha, have protested following the death of Dawa Chhiring Tamang in a truck accident. The angry residents blocked the Lamosangu-Jiri road after the incident.
The road, which was obstructed from Friday afternoon, remained closed until Saturday morning. According to the District Police Office, the accident occurred in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-7 at 8 Kilo. A truck (registration number Madhesh Province 03-02-Ka-0534) hit Tamang, killing him on the spot.
The victim’s family and locals have refused to remove the body from the road until their demands for compensation and other concerns are addressed.
The truck, which was transporting goods from Dolakha to Kathmandu, also collided with a motorcycle and a scooter during the incident. One person died, and two others were injured in the crash.
The roadblock has left vehicles and passengers traveling to Dolakha and Ramechhap stranded midway.
