A truck and a Scorpio vehicle collided on the Chandi Bridge along the East-West Highway in Chandrapur Municipality-5, Rautahat, on Tuesday morning. The accident left five people injured, one of them in critical condition.
According to Inspector Lokendra Adhikari of the District Traffic Police Office, Chandranigahapur, the accident involved a Scorpio (Na 4 Cha 3694) heading from Chandranigahapur to Sarlahi and a cargo truck (Ba Pra 01-006 Kha 5729) coming from the opposite direction. The collision injured the Scorpio driver and four passengers.
Among the injured, Santosh Kushwaha from Simraungadh Municipality-7, Bara, suffered head and forehead injuries and is in critical condition. He has been referred to Kathmandu for further treatment.
The other injured individuals are Sudip Kumar Yadav from Maulapur Municipality-3, Prashant Thakur from Durga Bhagwati Rural Municipality-5, Scorpio driver Ramvinod Mahato from Baudhimai Municipality-3, Matiarwa, and Pradeep Kushwaha.
Inspector Bishal Tamang from the Area Police Office, Chandranigahapur, reported that most of the injured sustained injuries on their forehead, hands, eyes, and other body parts.
