Tusharr Khanna Auditions for Male Lead in Student of the Year 3

The highly anticipated third installment of Student of the Year is currently in development, and casting news continues to make headlines. Recently, it was confirmed that Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, will be taking on the female lead role. But now, fresh details have emerged about one of the male leads in Karan Johar’s upcoming project, with TV actor Tusharr Khanna reportedly in the running.

According to sources close to the production, Khanna, known for his roles in popular TV shows like Naagin and Piya Albela, auditioned for a role alongside Kapoor and is now being considered for one of the male leads. Though discussions are still ongoing, insiders reveal that Khanna’s audition was successful, and the casting team is impressed with his performance. However, the final decision has yet to be made.

Khanna, who made his Bollywood debut with the film Starfish last year, has remained tight-lipped when approached for comments, keeping his involvement in the project unclear. While Starfish didn’t perform well at the box office, landing a role in Student of the Year 3, backed by the renowned Karan Johar and Dharma Productions, could significantly boost his career.

The Student of the Year franchise has been a launchpad for many Bollywood stars. The first film, released in 2012, introduced Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan, all of whom have since become major stars. The sequel, Student of the Year 2, released in 2019, featured Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria, and Tiger Shroff, the latter of whom was already an established name in the industry. Aditya Seal also played a significant role in the sequel.

Karan Johar recently celebrated the 12th anniversary of Student of the Year with a nostalgic Instagram post. Reflecting on the film’s success, he shared, “12 years, and I look back at the film I embarked on solely to have the best time of my life. And best time, it was! #SOTY.”

The casting developments continue to create excitement as fans eagerly await more news about the third installment of this iconic franchise.
