Two young children have died after drowning in water-filled pits in Chitwan and Kailali.
According to the police, 3-year-old Manisha Neupane from Madi Municipality-4, Chitwan, and 3-year-old Piyush BK from Godawari Municipality-1, Kailali, drowned near their homes.
Manisha fell into a water pit near her house on Tuesday afternoon and was seriously injured. She was taken to Baghauda Hospital in Madi but did not survive.
Similarly, Piyush also fell into a water pit near his home on Tuesday afternoon. He was taken to Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi for treatment but was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating both incidents.
