Two Fugitives Arrested in Parsa After 16 Years in Vehicular Homicide Cases


Two fugitives, who had been on the run for 16 years in connection with vehicle-related cases, have been arrested in Parsa. The arrested individuals are 65-year-old Chhathu Shah Teli from Birgunj Metropolitan City-17 and 40-year-old Chandu Raut Kurmi from Ward No. 25.

A complaint was filed against Teli by Kalawati Devi Sonarin on Baisakh 14, 2064. According to the District Police Office, Parsa, Teli was driving a tempo (Na.1 Ha 907) at the time, which hit and killed Rajendra Shah Sonar. He was arrested on Magh 27, and the police have extended his custody by seven days for further investigation under the “vehicular homicide” case.

Similarly, Kurmi was arrested based on a complaint filed by Aadesh Prasad Kurmi. The police reported that the motorcycle (Na.3 Pa 9718) driven by him was involved in an accident on Magh 3, 2064, resulting in the death of Horil Raut Kurmi. After fleeing the scene, he was arrested on Magh 28, and his custody has been extended by five days for further investigation, according to DSP Kishor Lamsal, the information officer at the District Police Office, Parsa.
