Two separate road accidents in the Kathmandu Valley on Monday night resulted in two deaths and one injury.
At around 9:30 PM in Nepaltar, Kathmandu, a motorcycle with license plate number Ba 97 Pa 6549 lost control and crashed, causing the death of a passenger. The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Kamal Rai from Chainpur, Sankhuwasabha, who was currently residing in Bouddha. According to the police, he was pronounced dead at Green City Hospital at 10:20 PM during treatment.
The motorcycle rider, 26-year-old Subham Rai, also from Chainpur, Sankhuwasabha, sustained injuries to his head and right leg. Police have reported that his condition is critical.
Similarly, on Monday night in Bhainsepati, Lalitpur, a passenger microbus struck a pedestrian, leading to her death. The microbus, with license plate number Ba 3 Kha 3102, lost control after colliding with an electric pole and hit 35-year-old Goma Lungeli, who was walking by the roadside. Goma, a resident of Magar Gaun, Lalitpur, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at Patan Hospital.
The uncontrolled microbus also caused damage to a parked Bolero vehicle and a nearby shop after hitting the electric pole.
