Police in Kailali arrested two men found with a large amount of opium at a hotel. The arrest happened at Paradise Hotel in Lamki-Chuha municipality, ward number 3, after police received a special tip.
The suspects are 38-year-old Meghraj Khatri from Guthichaur, Jumla, and 32-year-old Bhakt Bahadur Shahi from Barekot, Jajarkot. Police seized a total of 1.7 kilograms (1,706 grams) of opium from them.
This joint operation was conducted by the Narcotics Control Bureau of Mahendranagar and the Chisapani Police Office. Both men are now in custody as the investigation continues.
This arrest shows that authorities are working hard to stop drug trafficking in the region. The police have warned that they will continue strict actions against those involved in illegal drugs.
