2031 Women's World Cup

The United States will host the 2031 Women’s World Cup, as the country is the only bidder for the tournament. FIFA President Gianni Infantino made the announcement at the UEFA Congress in Belgrade on Thursday. He also mentioned that the United States could have some help from other countries in the CONCACAF region.

United Kingdom to Host 2035 Women’s World Cup

Infantino also confirmed that the United Kingdom would host the 2035 Women’s World Cup. This will include England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. These countries recently announced their interest in hosting the tournament.

Increased Number of Teams in 2031

FIFA has decided to increase the number of teams in the Women’s World Cup starting in 2031. The number of teams will go up from 32 to 48, similar to the men’s World Cup, which will also have 48 teams from 2026.

Other Countries Drop Out of the Bid

Earlier, countries like South Africa and Morocco showed interest in hosting the Women’s World Cup. However, Infantino’s comments suggest that these countries are no longer in the race. FIFA had earlier said that only European or African countries could bid for the 2035 tournament.

Next Women’s World Cup to be Held in Brazil

Before all of this, the next Women’s World Cup will take place in Brazil in 2027. This tournament will bring together the world’s best female football teams for exciting matches.

This announcement marks a major milestone in the history of the Women’s World Cup, and it shows the growing interest in hosting the tournament around the world.
