Respected Nepali author and former journalist Vijaya Chalise passed away on Friday morning at the age of 74. His family confirmed that he died at 9:30 AM.
His final rites are being performed today at the Gokarneshwar Mahadev temple premises in Kathmandu. Chalise was a resident of Gokarneshwar-9.
Born on Asar 22, 2008 B.S. in Aarubari, Jorpati, Chalise was formerly affiliated with Gorkhapatra Corporation. He served in editorial as well as management roles during his tenure.
He was a prolific writer, having published dozens of books in journalism, adult fiction, science fiction, and children’s literature. His latest novel, Yugsandhi, was released just recently.
