Vijay Honors Top Students, Urges Them to Reject Caste, Religion-Based Divides

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and popular actor Vijay made a powerful appeal to students on Friday, calling for unity beyond caste and religion. While addressing top Class 10 and 12 achievers from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Vijay said, “We need to avoid religion and caste like we avoid drugs.”

Celebrating Academic Excellence

Vijay personally congratulated and awarded meritorious students for their outstanding board exam performance. The event, held in Mahabalipuram, was a moment of pride for hundreds of families as students were applauded for their hard work and dedication.

“Don’t Let Division Enter Your Mind”

Speaking at the TVK’s Student Felicitation Ceremony, Vijay encouraged students to stay focused on their goals and never allow divisive thoughts to influence their minds.

“Does nature, like the sun or rain, have a caste or religion?” he asked, reminding students that these natural forces treat everyone equally.

He urged the young achievers to carry this idea of equality with them as they grow and make decisions in life.

Call for Responsible Voting

Vijay didn’t stop at just academics. He used the platform to spread awareness about the importance of voting responsibly in a democracy. He told the students to take the message home.

“Democracy gives equal opportunities. Ask everyone in your home to perform their democratic duty,” he said.

He also advised them to choose leaders who are honest and free from corruption, saying, “Elect good, trustworthy people who have not indulged in corruption.”

Building a Responsible Generation

Vijay’s words struck a chord with students, parents, and political watchers alike. The actor-turned-politician is increasingly being seen as a youth icon not only in cinema but also in public life. His emphasis on values, unity, and clean governance reflects the image he’s building ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections.
