The ongoing dispute within the Manchu family has once again come into the spotlight, with actor Vishnu Manchu addressing the controversy surrounding the missing hard disk from the film Kannappa. Vishnu hinted that his brother Manoj might be involved, referencing previous tensions between them. Now, the star of Mirai has finally spoken out about the issue.
Manoj Manchu’s Response to the Allegations
At the success celebration for his recent film Bhairavam, Manoj Manchu was questioned about the accusations leveled by his brother. However, Manoj appeared reluctant to comment and chose to avoid a direct response. According to Telugu Cinema, he simply stated, “I don’t want to answer that. I still wish the best for Kannappa.”
Vishnu Manchu’s Claims Regarding the Theft
During a promotional event, Vishnu discussed the details behind the stolen hard disk linked to Kannappa. He explained that the VFX work for the film was distributed across multiple locations, including Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, London, and Dubai.
He shared that a VFX hard drive had been sent from Mumbai and delivered to their father Mohan Babu’s residence in Film Nagar, a central point where all three siblings receive their packages. Their respective managers typically collect these deliveries.
Vishnu revealed that this particular hard disk was handed over to two individuals named Raghu and Charitha, who have since disappeared without a trace. He stated, “You all know about the family issues. We tried to contact Manoj through mutual friends, but there was no response. We don’t know if they stole it or if someone else was behind it. After exhausting options, we filed a police complaint.”
The Theft of the Kannappa Hard Disk
Vishnu further disclosed that the hard disk was protected by a strong password, making unauthorized access extremely unlikely—estimating only a 1% chance it could be bypassed. He urged the public not to watch any leaked footage if it surfaces.
The theft reportedly took place about a month before Kannappa’s scheduled release in Film Nagar, Hyderabad. Vishnu’s team hinted that the incident might have stemmed from internal sabotage fueled by family disputes.
Meanwhile, the highly anticipated movie, featuring stars like Prabhas, Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, and Akshay Kumar, is set to premiere on June 27, 2025.
