In November last year, Sidharth Malhotra unveiled his upcoming film Vvan – Force of the Forest, a folk thriller rooted in Indian mythology and mysticism. Recently, the film’s team revealed a video to announce the addition of Tamannaah Bhatia to the cast. However, the heavy use of AI in the announcement has sparked disappointment among some viewers.
The video features Tamannaah walking through a dense forest holding a diya, set to intense background music, as part of the film’s mystical theme. Balaji Motion Pictures shared the video on Instagram, welcoming Tamannaah to the project with a caption: “Rooted in Indian mythology and mysticism, Vvan – Force of the Forest brings to life a tale of folklore. Delighted to welcome @tamannaahspeaks to this powerful narrative — a force in her own right, ready to command the screen like never before 🌿✨.”
This announcement follows a similar one from Sidharth Malhotra, where a male figure, representing his character, walked through a forest holding a torch. While fans celebrated Tamannaah’s casting, expressing their excitement and admiration for the pairing with Sidharth, not all reactions were positive.
Some viewers criticized the filmmakers for opting for an AI-generated teaser, with one user commenting, “What in AI is this?” and another lamenting, “Now filmmakers are also doing their work with AI.” Others expressed disappointment given TVF’s reputation for thoughtful, human-centered narratives, stating it was disheartening to see such extensive AI use in the teaser.
Vvan – Force of the Forest, produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and The Viral Fever (TVF), was initially set for release during Chhath 2025. However, the film’s release has now been delayed, with a projected date in 2026. The exact release date is yet to be confirmed.
