Prime Video has just unveiled the full-length trailer for its upcoming mystery thriller We Were Liars, adapted from E. Lockhart’s best-selling novel. All eight episodes of the series will premiere globally on June 18, 2025, exclusively on Prime Video, reaching audiences in over 240 countries and territories.

Trailer Unveiled: Secrets, Suspense, and Sinclairs

Set against the backdrop of a secluded private island in New England, We Were Liars tells the haunting story of Cadence Sinclair Eastman and her privileged family. The Sinclairs are wealthy, attractive, and tightly bound by tradition—but behind their polished exterior lies a web of secrets. Known as “the Liars,” Cadence and her closest friends are drawn into a summer of lies, betrayal, and a tragic accident that changes everything.

The newly released trailer teases a tale of hidden truths and emotional unraveling, promising viewers a suspense-filled experience that will keep them guessing until the end.

Meet the Cast of Liars

Emily Alyn Lind stars as Cadence, supported by Shubham Maheshwari as Gat Patil, Esther McGregor as Mirren, and Joseph Zada as Johnny. The extended Sinclair family includes Caitlin FitzGerald (Penny), Mamie Gummer (Carrie), Candice King (Bess), Rahul Kohli (Ed), and David Morse as patriarch Harris Sinclair.

The Powerhouse Behind the Series

We Were Liars is brought to life by co-showrunners Julie Plec (The Vampire Diaries, Legacies) and Carina Adly MacKenzie (Roswell, New Mexico, The Originals), who also serve as executive producers. They are joined by Emily Cummins (The Endgame), Brett Matthews (Legacies), Pascal Verschooris (The Vampire Diaries), and the novel’s author, E. Lockhart.

The series is produced by Universal Television (a part of Universal Studio Group) and Amazon MGM Studios. The original novel is published by Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House Children’s Books.
