Christy Carlson Romano, the former Disney star known for Even Stevens, had a terrifying experience while celebrating her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday. The couple went clay pigeon shooting on Saturday, but the fun quickly turned dangerous when Romano was accidentally injured in the face by a stray pellet.
In a video shared on Instagram, the 40-year-old actress showed off the painful results, revealing a large wound under her right eye and explaining that she was “hit in five places” by a shot from another participant.
Romano admitted the incident was far from fun. “So, I got shot in the eye. It was not fun,” she said with a shaky breath. She pointed out the damage, including a bullet wound near her eye and fragments left on her forehead, one of which she showed by lifting her hair.
Despite the frightening injury, Romano expressed her gratitude to the first responders, calling them “amazing superheroes” for their quick action. While the birthday outing didn’t go as planned, it’s a relief that Romano is recovering.
