Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has revealed the reason behind his kidney failure.
Speaking at an event held in Kathmandu today, he stated that the use of painkillers led to his kidney failure.
He shared that due to a lack of nutritious food and medicine, he suffered from tuberculosis and ulcers, which gradually deteriorated his health.
“I had tuberculosis. I developed ulcers, and the pain became unbearable. My stomach was full of wounds, burning intensely. Blood would ooze from the wounds, and they would give me painkillers. If you keep taking painkillers like that, what else would happen but kidney failure?” he concluded. “The reason for my kidney failure is painkillers.”
Oli, who is also the chairman of the CPN-UML, has undergone a second kidney transplant following the failure of his kidneys.
He also advised everyone to make efforts to maintain their health.
