Maruti Suzuki has taken another bold step in its global expansion as the ‘Made in India’ Jimny 5-door officially debuts in Japan. This marks a significant milestone as the second-most exported model from the automaker in FY 2024-25 reaches Suzuki’s home turf.
Manufactured exclusively in Gurugram, India, this off-road icon has already won hearts in markets like Mexico, Australia, and South Africa. The addition of the 5-door variant in Japan is expected to further cement Jimny’s popularity.
Maruti Suzuki’s MD & CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, stated, “The launch of the Jimny 5-door in Japan showcases our world-class manufacturing standards. Its success in global markets reaffirms our commitment to ‘Make-in-India for the world.’”
The Jimny has a strong legacy, with over 3.5 million units sold across 199 countries. With India as the production hub, Suzuki aims to meet the growing global demand for this beloved off-roader.
