A 21-year-old woman has been arrested on charges of extorting over 1.4 million rupees by luring a man into a honey trap.
The arrested woman has been identified as Shindu Chand, originally from Naumule Rural Municipality-8 of Dailekh, and currently living in Birendranagar Municipality-8, Surkhet. She was arrested by a team from the District Police Office, Surkhet.
According to police, Chand allegedly called a man to a hotel in Bulbule, Surkhet, in Bhadra 2081, and engaged in a relationship with him. She then reportedly blackmailed the man, threatening to falsely accuse him of rape, and extorted a total of Rs 1.425 million from him.
