A woman in labor gave birth near a roadside in Kailali, thanks to the quick help of police officer Chandrika Deuba. The woman was struggling alone in Godawari Municipality–1, Chaitanyapur, when locals noticed her unusual behavior and called the police.
Officer Deuba, stationed at Khairana Police Post, rushed to the spot and found the woman in severe labor pain. As no one dared to go near her, Deuba stepped in to help. The woman ended up giving birth in the yard of a nearby house, as she couldn’t make it to the hospital in time.
The incident happened around 9 AM. After the delivery, Deuba arranged for the woman and her newborn to be taken to Padma Hospital in Attariya for proper care.
According to Officer Deuba, the woman was found to be living in an abandoned state with no clear information about her family, home, or mental condition. She could not speak due to extreme pain and appeared mentally unstable. Her age is estimated to be between 30 and 35 years. It’s still unclear if she is married.
Thanks to the kindness and courage of Officer Deuba, both the mother and child are now safe.
