A woman has been murdered in Dhanusa. The victim, 48-year-old Reshami Devi Bin, wife of Dashaiya Mukhiya Bin, was from Mithila Municipality-3, Haripur.
Her body was found buried behind the toilet of her home on Wednesday evening around 7 PM, according to Inspector Sonu Sah of the Sakhuwa Mahendranagar Area Police Office.
Inspector Sah stated that Dashaiya, her husband, confessed to killing her following a domestic dispute. Based on his statement, the police located Reshami’s body.
According to a statement given by the victim’s daughter-in-law, the couple had been arguing until around noon. Dashaiya, who was intoxicated, later asked his daughter-in-law for food and inquired about her mother-in-law’s whereabouts. His suspicious response to her questions prompted the family to call the police.
During questioning, Dashaiya admitted to murdering his wife and burying her body behind the toilet. A police team led by Inspector Sah excavated the body and sent it to the Provincial Hospital in Janakpur for post-mortem examination.
Dashaiya has been taken into custody. Police said they will record his statement today as he was intoxicated during the arrest.
