The Nepal Women’s National Cricket Team departed for Uganda on Wednesday for the upcoming Women’s T20I series. The team was bid farewell at the headquarters of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) in Mulapani by Secretary Paras Khadka and spokesperson Chumbi Lama, among others.
The series, scheduled from March 8 to 16, will feature Uganda, Hong Kong, Namibia, and Nepal. The teams will compete in a double round-robin format, with the top two teams advancing to the final. Nepal will play their first match against Namibia on March 8.
On March 9, Nepal will face Uganda, followed by a match against Hong Kong on March 10. In the next phase, Nepal will play Namibia on March 12, Uganda on March 13, and Hong Kong on March 14.
The team is captained by Indu Barma. The 14-member squad includes Sana Praveen and Riya Sharma, who have earned their place in the senior team for the first time. The other players are Rubina Chhetry, Bindu Rawal, Puja Mahato, Samjhana Khadka, Mamta Chaudhary, Rajmati Airee, Roma Thapa, Rachana Kumari Chaudhary, Kabita Joshi, Ishwori Bist, and Alisha Kumari Yadav (wicketkeeper).
