The Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is all set to take place in England, with the final scheduled for July 5 at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a total of seven venues that will host matches during the tournament.

England will host the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 for the second time. The first time was in 2009, when the England Women’s team lifted the trophy after defeating New Zealand in the final, also played at Lord’s.

Venues for Women’s T20 World Cup 2026

The ECB has selected seven venues across the country for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. These include Lord’s, Old Trafford, Headingley, Edgbaston, Hampshire Bowl, The Oval, and Bristol County Ground.

Lord’s continues its strong association with ICC finals. It also hosted the Women’s ODI World Cup final in 2017 and the Men’s ODI World Cup final in 2019. Both of those matches ended with victories for England.

Tournament schedule and format

The Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will begin on June 12 and end with the final on July 5. A total of 12 teams will take part in the tournament. They will be divided into two groups of six. The top two teams from each group will move on to the semi-finals.

There will be 30 matches in total. England, as hosts, have already qualified for the tournament. India will look to win their first-ever Women’s T20 World Cup title after missing out in previous editions.

ICC’s statement on the event

ICC Chairman Jay Shah shared his thoughts on the announcement, calling it a major step forward for the tournament. He said, “The confirmation of venues represents a defining moment as we build towards the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. This tournament will bring together the world’s finest players in a celebration of skill, spirit and sportsmanship.”
