A worker lost his life after being electrocuted while working on an electricity pole in Gaindakot, Nawalpur. The incident took place on Thursday evening at around 6:20 PM in Kalikachowk, Ward No. 5 of Gaindakot Municipality.
According to the District Police Office, Nawalpur, the deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Aryan Singh Thakuri, a resident of Bheri Municipality, Jajarkot. He was working to transfer an electricity line from an old pole to a new one when the tragic accident occurred.
Witnesses say that Thakuri suddenly got electrocuted while on the pole, leading to his instant death. His body remained hanging from the pole until authorities, with the help of local residents, brought it down.
A local resident alleged that the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) unexpectedly turned on the power supply, which may have caused the electrocution. However, officials have not confirmed this claim yet.
DSP Jesi Shah of the District Police Office stated that further details of the incident are still unclear and that an investigation is currently underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
