Wrexham(The Red Dragons) has posted record-breaking financial results following their return to the English Football League (EFL), with co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at the helm. In the 2023-24 season, the club reported a turnover of £26.7 million ($34.5 million), marking a 155% increase compared to the previous year.
Wrexham: Hollywood Influence Boosts Global Revenue
The global interest in The Red Dragons has skyrocketed, with 52.1% of turnover now coming from outside the UK, mainly from North America. This growth has been largely driven by the success of the popular TV documentary series “Welcome to Wrexham.”
Footballing Success and Promising Future
Currently second in the League One standings, Wrexham is on track for promotion to the Championship for the first time since 1982, continuing their impressive rise after a 17-year absence from the EFL. The club’s women’s team also achieved notable success, reaching the FAW Cup Final and advancing to the Championship phase, marking their first season as semi-professionals.
