Suraj Yadav, a 22-year-old resident of Mudwalwa, Rajdevi-7, went missing after drowning in the Bagmati River in Rajdevi Municipality-6, Rautahat, during the idol immersion ritual of Saraswati Puja.
Security personnel and locals had been searching for Yadav since Tuesday. His body was found this morning at the same location where he had drowned, according to DSP Deepak Kumar Raya, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Rautahat.
The body was retrieved using a fishing net. After post-mortem, it was handed over to the family, DSP Raya confirmed.
