A 37-year-old man, Balindra Prakash Rai, was killed in a brutal attack in Gokarneshwar-2, Nayapati. The incident happened on the night of Baisakh 30 while Rai was sitting at a grocery store.
Police have arrested five suspects linked to the murder. The group allegedly assaulted Rai, leaving him seriously injured. He died while receiving treatment, according to SP Apilraj Bohara of Kathmandu Police.
The arrested are:
- Prabin Tamang (29) from Sunapati-3, Ramechhap
- Sameer Waiba Tamang (23) from Bagmati-3, Sarlahi
- Abhishek Waiba Tamang (26) from the same area
- Dipendra Bhujel (29) from Indrawati-6, Sindhupalchok
- Anurag Tamang (28) from Chaurideurali-7, Kavre
They were caught by a police team from Boudha. Authorities have launched a murder investigation against the group under “duty to kill” charges. More details are expected as the case unfolds.
