YouTube is expanding its Communities feature, giving more creators a way to interact with their audience. This feature, first introduced during the Made by YouTube 2024 event, allows creators and subscribers to share posts, updates, and discussions within a creator’s channel. Subscribers can react to posts, leave comments, and engage directly with the creator, making the channel feel more like a community.
With this update, YouTube hopes to become the main platform for creator-fan interactions, reducing the need for other social platforms like Discord and Reddit. The decision to expand Communities came after positive feedback from a test group of creators, as mentioned in YouTube’s official blog.
These new features are only available on YouTube’s mobile app.
