Meta’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, has shared information about the sales of the company’s Ray-Ban smart glasses. According to him, in 2024, the company sold more than 1 million Ray-Ban smart glasses.
Even though these glasses are not yet available in many markets worldwide, this sales number is considered a big success for the company. Zuckerberg has also set a goal for smart glasses sales in 2025. He asked his employees, Can we sell 5 million smart glasses in 2025?
He further said, I know one big question for us is whether we can increase sales from 1 million to 2 million this year. Can we go from 1 million to 5 million?
Meta first launched the Ray-Ban smart glasses in 2023. Since then, the company has continuously updated them with new features. These smart glasses come with multimodal AI technology.
They can process everything we see, hear, and read. They also have a live AI translation feature. The glasses include a camera that can record live videos. Additionally, users can connect them to Bluetooth for making phone calls and other tasks. Zuckerberg stated, We have pioneered this technology, and no competitor has caught up with us yet.
Meta is also preparing to launch a new product in this category. The company is expected to release new smart glasses this year with even more advanced features. Meta plans to expand its product availability to more countries and regions around the world.
