105 Detained Over Vandalism and Arson in Kathmandu Protest

Vandalism and Arson in Kathmandu Protest

Police are continuing to arrest people involved in the protest, vandalism, and arson by royalists at Tinkune, Kathmandu, on Friday.

According to Kathmandu District Police spokesperson SP Apilraj Bohara, 105 people had been arrested by Saturday morning.

One of the arrested individuals had also tried to snatch a police gun, but their name has not been revealed. During the incident, an Onlinekhabar journalist was also attacked while taking photos and videos.

Police stated that they had arrested those involved in inhumane, unlawful, and criminal activities.

On Friday night, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leaders Rabindra Mishra, Dhawal Shamsher Rana, and activist Swagat Nepal were also arrested. The movement’s coordinator, Nabaraj Subedi, has also been placed under house arrest.

Meanwhile, Durga Prasai, who is believed to be the key person behind the protest, is on the run.
