Police arrested seven people who were caught gambling at a cafeteria in Kirtipur Municipality-5, Rarahil, on Wednesday. Acting on a tip-off, a police team from Kirtipur Police Circle raided the location and detained the individuals.
Over Rs 2 Lakh Cash Seized
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Apilraj Bohara of the Kathmandu District Police Office, those arrested are all residents of Kirtipur Municipality-8, Panga:
- Rajkumar Maharjan (45)
- Makhanlal Maharjan (52)
- Arendra Maharjan (42)
- Ujwal Maharjan (40)
- Jitendra Maharjan (44)
- Suman Singh (47)
- Rakesh Maharjan (39)
Gambling Materials Also Recovered
Police confiscated a total of Rs 207,735 in cash and three sets of playing cards from the scene. Further investigation is ongoing.
