An 80-year-old man died while trying to put out a forest fire. Bhadra Rawal, a resident of Sinja Rural Municipality-1, lost his life while attempting to extinguish the fire in the Rupakot forest.
According to Sinja Rural Municipality Chairperson Purna Prasad Dhital, the fire broke out around 2 PM on Sunday. It started in an apple orchard and spread to the forest. Rawal, who was also a former chairperson of the rural municipality, tragically died during the firefighting efforts.
The fire is still not under control. Chairperson Dhital stated that coordination with security forces is ongoing to contain the blaze.
