Koshi Province League Starts From Magh 28

The Koshi Province League Football Tournament is set to take place in Dharan from Magh 28. The Koshi Province Football Association announced during a press conference on Monday that the Koshi Province Premier League will be held from Magh 28 to Falgun 06.

Kishor Rai, President of the Koshi Province Football Association, informed that league champions from 11 districts of Koshi Province will participate in the tournament, which will be held at the Dharan Stadium. The total cost of organizing the event is estimated to be NPR 2.52 million.

The provincial league champion will receive NPR 200,000 in cash, the runner-up will receive NPR 150,000, and the third-placed team will be awarded NPR 125,000. Rai stated that the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has provided NPR 1.5 million for the tournament, and an additional NPR 2 million has been requested from the Koshi Province government. The organizers noted that other funds will be raised through support from various organizations.

The nine-day league will feature competition among Dharan Football Club from Sunsari, Samrat Sporting Club from Morang, Dhaijan Charali Football Club from Jhapa, Deurali Football Club from Dhankuta, Loru Hang Football Club from Sankhuwasabha, Red Horse Football Club from Ilam, Panchthar Football Club from Panchthar, Gaighat Football Club from Udayapur, Buipa Sporting Club from Khotang, Pragatisheel Football Club from Taplejung, and Library Football Club from Bhojpur. These 11 teams have been divided into four groups.

The organizers have stated that the league champion and runner-up teams will qualify for the National League. To assist with preparation, each participating club will receive NPR 25,000 as preparation expenses, and the provincial government has been requested to help find sponsors for these clubs, according to President Rai.
