Police have arrested six more people for their involvement in vandalism and arson during the royalist protest held in Tinkune.
A team from the District Police Office, Kathmandu, made the arrests and made their names public. The arrested individuals are:
– Amit Sah (22) from Sarlahi
– Suman Karki (19) from Sunsari
– Hemraj Tharu (34) from Bardiya
– Diwas Bogati Kshetri (27) from Dhading
– Anita Kunwar (Annie) (30) from Kavre
– Kumar Tamang (30) from Sindhupalchok
According to police spokesperson SP Apil Raj Bohara, they have been taken into custody under charges of criminal unrest and organized crime, and an investigation is ongoing after obtaining permission from the Kathmandu District Court.
With these arrests, the total number of people detained in connection to the royalist protest has reached 73. Earlier, 67 people were arrested, including Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) senior vice-chairperson Rabindra Mishra and general secretary/MP Dhawal Shamsher Rana.
Police are also investigating them on charges of crimes against the state.
