ChatGPT’s Prediction Ends 12-Year Marriage

A Greek woman used ChatGPT to predict if her husband was having an affair by showing the chatbot a photo of his coffee cup, using a traditional method called tasseography (reading coffee grounds). ChatGPT told her that her husband was emotionally involved with another woman whose name started with the letter “E” and that this woman might break their family apart.

Taking this seriously, the woman asked her husband to leave the house, informed their children about divorce, and started legal proceedings. The husband revealed in a Greek TV show that she had been experimenting with new trends and showed ChatGPT the coffee cup picture just for fun. He said he took it as a joke, but she didn’t and soon after filed for divorce.

His lawyer argued that an AI prediction like this shouldn’t be used as legal proof and insisted the husband was innocent.
