G-Dragon’s Agency Firmly Denies Dating Rumors with Lee Jooyeon Amid Viral Fan Speculation

BIGBANG’s G-Dragon is once again at the center of dating speculation—this time reignited by keen-eyed fans linking recent social media activity of actor-singer Lee Joo-yeon to the K-pop icon. Despite the buzz, G-Dragon’s agency has swiftly stepped in to put the rumors to rest.

Fans Connect the Dots
The latest round of speculation began when Joo-yeon shared a selfie in April featuring a grey cat. What caught fans’ attention wasn’t just the feline companion—it was the background of the photo. Observant followers claimed the room looked strikingly similar to G-Dragon’s well-known living space. Adding fuel to the fire was the cat itself, which bore a close resemblance to G-Dragon’s pet Abyssinian, Iye.

The most convincing clue, fans argue, was the pink Chanel neck accessory worn by the cat in Joo-yeon’s post. Many pointed out it appeared identical to one often seen on G-Dragon’s pet in past uploads.

Agency Issues Firm Denial
Addressing the swirling rumors, Galaxy Corporation, G-Dragon’s agency, issued a clear statement on June 6:

“The ongoing dating rumors between G-Dragon and Lee Joo-yeon are not true.”

This isn’t the first time the duo has been caught in the gossip mill. Dating rumors first emerged in 2017, though both parties maintained they were “just good friends.” Since then, speculation has flared up repeatedly—twice in 2019 and again during an alleged getaway to Jeju Island.

G-Dragon’s Relationship History in the Spotlight
G-Dragon’s dating life has always been a hot topic in K-pop circles. Over the years, he’s been romantically linked to several high-profile names including Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon, Japanese models Mizuhara Kiko and Komatsu Nana, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, and TWICE’s Sana.

Career on a High Note
While the dating rumors swirl, G-Dragon is focused on his career. He dropped his third solo studio album Übermensch in February and launched his Übermensch World Tour 2025 in March, kicking off in South Korea before heading to major cities like Tokyo, Bulacan, Osaka, Macau, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Hong Kong.

Adding to his busy year, G-Dragon also wrapped up his variety show Good Day in April. The show’s finale featured a star-studded music video compilation with appearances from many of his celebrity friends.

For now, fans may continue speculating—but G-Dragon and his team are staying firm in their denial.
