Since the shooting of the popular Kannada film ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ began, the set has faced several unfortunate incidents. Last month, a junior artist tragically drowned in a river. Recently, a mimicry artist passed away due to a heart attack. Amid these events, rumors spread about a boat accident during the shoot, which turned out to be false.
False News About Boat Capsizing on Set
There were reports claiming that during filming at the Mani Reservoir in Karnataka, actor-director Rishab Shetty and around 30 others narrowly escaped a boat capsizing caused by strong winds. However, the production team quickly denied these reports.
According to Adarsh, the executive producer from Homble Films, the overturned structure was not a real boat but a set piece designed to look like a boat for background visuals. The incident happened due to heavy rain and strong winds, but no one was on or near the structure at that time. Importantly, no one was injured.
Shooting Continues Smoothly After Incident
Adarsh confirmed that the shooting is continuing without any disruption. The team emphasized that the structure was part of the film set, and the false news of a real boat capsizing caused unnecessary panic among fans and media.
Previous Tragic Incidents on the Set
Earlier this year, in May, it was reported that a junior artist died by drowning during a lunch break swim. Additionally, just a day before the recent boat set incident news, mimicry artist Kalabhavan Niju passed away due to a heart attack.
About Kantara 2
While the ‘Kantara 2’ set has unfortunately seen some sad incidents, it is important to separate rumors from facts. The production team continues to work carefully to ensure safety and progress for the much-anticipated sequel.
