The Narayangadh–Muglin road will remain closed until 3 PM today due to ongoing work to clear large boulders that could fall onto the road near Tuin Khola. The road closure, which began at 11 AM, was initially planned until 1 PM but has now been extended due to delays.
According to Bharatpur Road Division Engineer Arjun Ghimire, the delay was caused by the time required to safely bring down heavy rocks from the slope above the road. The area is at high risk of landslides, especially during monsoon.
This highway is a critical route connecting Kathmandu and Pokhara with eastern and western Nepal. Hundreds of vehicles have been halted due to the closure.
Five machines, including high-reach excavators, are being used to complete the work, and the site engineer expects to reopen the road by 3 PM today.
