Kichcha Sudeep, who surprised fans last year by stepping away from Bigg Boss Kannada, has made an unexpected yet welcome comeback. The beloved actor and host has confirmed that he will return to helm the reality show for four more seasons, much to the delight of fans who were heartbroken by his earlier exit announcement.
Sudeep, who has been synonymous with Bigg Boss Kannada since its inception in 2013, shared the big news at a recent press conference held by the show’s organisers, Colours Kannada. Speaking about his return, the actor said, “The show must go on. I had to think from the fans’ perspective—they’ve always loved me as the host.” He added that he was convinced to return after sensing sincerity in the conversations he had with the team.
Setting the Record Straight
In response to speculation about the terms of his comeback, Sudeep clarified that he did not demand control over contestant selection. “Bigg Boss requires a mix of personalities. My only request was that the team should have clarity in choosing participants. As a host, I shouldn’t have to strain myself focusing on a few contestants while ignoring others,” he explained.
Last October, Sudeep shocked his followers by declaring Season 11 would be his final stint as host. He didn’t offer details at the time but expressed hope that his decision would be respected. During the recent press meet, he addressed the reasons behind his temporary departure. While he emphasized that he had no issues with the Kannada production team, he was dissatisfied with how the Kannada version of Bigg Boss was being handled compared to other regional editions.
According to him, over a dozen meetings took place to sort out concerns before he agreed to return. One key condition was that he would have the flexibility to decide when the next season would begin filming. “They had a particular date in mind, but I asked them to delay it by three to four weeks. I’m focused on ensuring I have a film ready for release in 2025,” he said.
Balancing Bigg Boss and Films
Aside from his hosting duties, Sudeep is busy with his upcoming film Billa Ranga Baashaa, a futuristic action drama directed by Anup Bhandari. The project reunites the duo after their 2022 collaboration Vikrant Rona and is being backed by HanuMan producers, Primeshow Entertainment. Another major project from the star is also expected to be announced soon.
Sudeep’s return to Bigg Boss Kannada marks not just a win for fans but also a renewed chapter in his already impactful journey with the franchise. With four more seasons ahead, viewers can expect the signature charisma and honesty that made Sudeep a household name across Karnataka.
