Traffic has been partially halted on the Karnali Highway after a section of the road at Gothibhir in Tilagufa Municipality-6, Kalikot district, collapsed early this morning.
According to the Kalikot District Police Office, large vehicles have been temporarily banned from using the highway due to safety concerns. The road damage was caused by continuous rainfall in the region.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Tek Bahadur Rawal urged the public to remain cautious while traveling in the area, stating, “Due to the ongoing heavy rains, traveling along the highway has become extremely risky. We request all travelers to take necessary precautions.”
Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and are expected to begin repair work once the weather improves.
