Alia Bhatt's Former Personal Assistant Arrested for ₹76 Lakh Fraud

Alia Bhatt, one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, is making headlines—but this time, it’s not for a film. Her former personal assistant, Vedika Prakash Shetty, has been arrested by Mumbai’s Juhu Police for allegedly committing financial fraud.

According to reports, Vedika siphoned off over ₹76 lakh from Alia’s personal accounts and her production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions Pvt Ltd. The fraud came to light earlier this year, prompting Alia’s mother, Soni Razdan, who is also a director at the company, to file a complaint in January.

Police officials revealed that Vedika, who had worked closely with Alia until 2024, was entrusted with financial responsibilities. However, she allegedly misused that trust by presenting fake invoices for travel, meetings, and events, which she claimed were expenses related to the actress’s work.

A case has been registered under Sections 316(4) (criminal breach of trust) and 318(4) (cheating) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation is ongoing, and so far, neither Alia nor her team has released a public statement.

On the Work Front:
Alia Bhatt was last seen in Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala, which underperformed at the box office. She will next star in Love and War alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, and also has the YRF action film Alpha with Sharvari in the works.
