Group Attacks Owner While Stealing Bodhichitta in Lalitpur, 3 Arrested

A group trying to steal Bodhichitta beads attacked the owner with a khukuri in Lalitpur.

According to Lalitpur police, three people have been arrested for the attack. The suspects are 30-year-old Pratiman Gole from Sindhuli, 26-year-old Buddha Tamang from Kavre, and 26-year-old Jivan Tamang from Sindhupalchok.

The group had gone to steal Bodhichitta beads planted by Krishna Bahadur Marpha in Godawari Municipality-7. Police said the incident occurred around 2 AM when barking dogs alerted the owner. As Krishna Bahadur came outside to check, the group attacked him with a khukuri.

He was injured on his right hand and required five stitches, according to police.

To protect the Bodhichitta, Marpha had installed CCTV cameras. However, the group cut the wires before collecting the beads. Police recovered 99 Bodhichitta seeds from the suspects.
