Vaani Kapoor smiles during Mandala Murders promotion event

Vaani Kapoor is currently promoting her upcoming Netflix series Mandala Murders, set to premiere on July 25. While speaking to host Siddharth Kannan during promotions, the actress opened up about not being part of War 2, the much-awaited sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War.

In the original film, Vaani played a key role alongside Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. However, the sequel, directed by Ayan Mukerji, stars Hrithik once again, but this time alongside Kiara Advani and Jr NTR.

When asked if she wished to be in the sequel, Vaani gracefully replied, “No, I wish them the best. I feel incredibly grateful that I at least got the opportunity to be a part of a film like War, the OG War. It is looking beautiful. It is cinematic. It is larger than life. Kudos to the team.”

She also shared a light-hearted moment, joking about how both her and Tiger’s characters died in the first film. “Me, Sid (director Sidharth Anand), and Tiger are all not there in the sequel. Tiger and I both passed away in War. So I said, if Tiger comes back, I’m coming back too, my friend,” she laughed.

War, directed by Sidharth Anand, was one of 2019’s highest-grossing films. The upcoming sequel, War 2, is being produced by Yash Raj Films and will hit theatres on August 14, 2025. The trailer will be released on July 25.
