An Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner airplane, with 242 passengers on board, crashed near Ahmedabad airport in Gujarat on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred in the Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad shortly after the flight departed from Ahmedabad airport, bound for London.
According to India Today, emergency services are on the scene. While full details are still emerging, initial visuals from the crash site show a large plume of thick black smoke rising into the air. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
