The body of another person who went missing after falling into the Bheri River at Panchapuri Municipality-10, Surkhet, has been found.
According to the Armed Police Force (APF), a diving team discovered the body of 18-year-old Arjun Jhankri Magar on Sunday afternoon. He was a resident of Pwang, Sisne Rural Municipality-2, in Eastern Rukum district.
APF Deputy Spokesperson (DSP) Shailendra Thapa informed that Magar’s body was found nearly 200 meters south of the location where he and his companions had drowned.
According to Thapa, the incident occurred on Magh 23, when the victims fell into the river while pulling cables for an under-construction suspension bridge.
Earlier, on Magh 24, the diving team had already recovered the body of 24-year-old Anil Gharti, who was also from the same area.
After receiving information about the incident, the Nepal Armed Police Force, Battalion No. 32, Raktakali Gan, Surkhet, deployed a team of six professional divers to conduct an extensive search operation. The team had been continuously searching for the missing individuals in the river.
The tragic incident has left the local community in shock, as both victims were involved in construction work when they accidentally fell into the river. Authorities are urging people to take extra precautions while working near water bodies, especially during construction activities.
