Anthropic has unveiled its latest AI model, Claude 3.7 Sonnet, designed to deliver faster responses and provide transparent reasoning processes. The model integrates multiple reasoning approaches to tackle complex problems more efficiently, positioning Anthropic competitively in the AI industry against major U.S. and Chinese tech firms, including DeepSeek and Alibaba.
Supported by Amazon and Google, Anthropic’s Claude 3.7 Sonnet is available across all Claude plans, including Free, Pro, Team, and Enterprise, with its “extended thinking mode” feature exclusive to paid plans. This mode enables self-reflection before generating responses, enhancing performance in mathematics, physics, coding, and other complex tasks.
The company emphasized that the model prioritizes practical applications in real-world scenarios rather than focusing solely on mathematical and computer science challenges. Additionally, Anthropic is introducing a limited preview of Claude Code, an AI-powered tool designed to assist developers by handling extensive engineering tasks directly from the terminal.
Anthropic maintains its pricing structure from previous models, offering a more cost-effective solution compared to OpenAI’s o1 model. Claude 3.7 Sonnet is priced at $3 per million input tokens and $15 per million output tokens, significantly lower than OpenAI’s rates of $15 and $60, respectively.
