Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater have put an end to recent breakup speculation with a heartwarming joint appearance on Saturday, April 26. The couple turned heads at New York City’s Westside Theatre, where they came out to support Grande’s longtime friend and Victorious co-star Liz Gillies in her Off-Broadway run of Little Shop of Horrors.
According to PEOPLE, the pair arrived nearly an hour before curtain to spend quality time with the cast backstage. A source called their visit “adorable,” adding that the couple exuded warmth and kindness, making a lasting impression with their genuine support.
Grande even brought along a charming gift—a potted plant for the women’s dressing room, a fitting tribute to Audrey II, the iconic man-eating plant from the show. Liz Gillies later posted a series of backstage snaps on Instagram, capturing the joyful reunion. “THANK YOU FOR COMING TO THE SHOP, MY DINGUS!!” she captioned the photos, which showed her, Grande, Slater, and fellow cast members smiling and holding matching potted plants.
The source added that Ariana was clearly thrilled to be there, humming “Skid Row” as she entered the venue and scooping up plenty of show merchandise. The night was more than a show of friendship—it was a full-circle moment. Gillies, now starring as Audrey opposite Milo Manheim’s Seymour, is returning to her theatrical roots. She and Grande first shared the stage back in 2008 for their Broadway debut in 13. Another castmate from that production, Aaron Simon Gross, also reunited with Grande that evening in what insiders described as an incredibly sweet moment.
Gillies and Grande have maintained a strong bond throughout the years. Speaking to PEOPLE in late 2024, Gillies shared that they prioritize spending time together despite their busy schedules.
Grande and Slater’s romance began during filming for Wicked, following their respective breakups. Ariana went public with the relationship in November 2024 on Instagram. Their recent public appearance not only highlighted their continued connection but also effectively silenced any lingering rumors about a split.
