Basanta Movie Opens for Advance Booking, Secures High Number of Shows

The movie ‘Basanta’, set to release on Chaitra 22, has already secured the most shows for any film in advance bookings. From multiplexes to single-screen cinemas, ‘Basanta’ is getting a high number of shows across Nepal.

The largest multiplex chain, QFX, opened ticket bookings three days before the movie’s release, offering 33 shows in the Kathmandu Valley alone. As of Wednesday, QFX had scheduled 71 shows nationwide, with 38 shows outside the Kathmandu Valley, excluding Itahari.

INI Cinemas has scheduled 16 shows in locations like Lhotse Mall, NB Center, Cubex Butwal, and Simara Business Center. Wan Cinemas is showing the movie in 10 locations, while F-Cube and Big Movies have each set up 5 shows. BSR Cinemas has arranged 4 shows for the film.

The high demand for tickets and the movie’s promotional material have created a lot of excitement, leading to expectations that the film will be shown in over 400 theaters nationwide on its release.

Directed by Prakash Saput, known for his music videos, Basanta marks his directorial debut. The movie is a social drama, and Saput is also credited for the script, music, and story. Sushan Prajapati is the cinematographer for the film.

The film was shot in various locations across Baglung, Kathmandu, and the Terai. The producers of the film are Mohan Bishwokarma and Bindu Bohora, while the executive producers are Anurodh Bhattrai, Nana Thakali, and Birendra Narayan Shrestha.

The movie is set to release simultaneously in Nepal and internationally, distributed by DCN in Kathmandu and FD Company in the regions. The cast includes Prakash Saput, Swastima Khadka, Prabhat Pal Thakuri, Shree Shivanshi, Urmila Lamgade, Khadka Bahadur Pun (Khapu), Anup Baral, Kamal Mani Nepal, Prakash Ghimire, and Vishal Pahari.
