Bishal Bhandari, the director of the popular show Comedy Night with Champion, shared a video on social media on Thursday showing himself outside the Prime Minister’s Office at Singha Durbar. This post immediately triggered a wave of speculation online—people started wondering if Bhandari had been called by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The Controversy Behind the Visit
Normally, such visits might not cause much stir. But the timing made this one different. Just a few days earlier, the latest episode of Comedy Night with Champion had humorously mocked Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The show featured caricatures by artist Suman Karki and included members of the National Independent Party (RASWAPA) as guests. It satirized the new party and Oli’s political tussles in a bold and funny way.
This episode quickly grabbed attention, gaining over 1 million views on YouTube within four days. According to Bhandari, it’s the fastest-growing episode on their channel.
Speculation Over Prime Minister’s Office Summons
After posting the video from outside the Prime Minister’s Office, rumors began to spread that Bhandari was summoned due to the episode’s content. Some media outlets reported this angle, further fueling public curiosity.
To clear the air, Khabarhub contacted Bhandari, who explained that he visited the office only to meet a friend who works in the Prime Minister’s team. He firmly stated that he was not officially called regarding the episode or for any formal discussion.
Bhandari added, “Sometimes when you make noise, people come asking for explanations from different sides. It feels like a wild goose chase.”
Bishal Bhandari’s Public Clarification
Shortly after speaking to the media, Bhandari posted a clarification on Facebook. He accused some media houses of spreading false information based only on the social media video he shared.
Addressing these outlets, he wrote, “Let’s not sell stories just for views. False news does not help society move forward.”
The situation highlights how comedy and satire can provoke strong reactions, especially when politics is involved. While the episode’s humor clearly struck a chord with viewers, Bhandari’s visit to the Prime Minister’s Office was personal, not official, reminding everyone to verify facts before jumping to conclusions.
